The 2024 Botánico offers an impressive counterpoint to its Fosíl stablemate, expressing the depth and persistence that tend to characterize the wines of Gualtallary versus the comparatively incisive profile of San Pablo. It opens on an initially subtle note before gradually unfurling a bouquet befitting its name, defined by resinous herbs and botanicals set against a green-fruited core with stony accents. The palate is equal parts electric, broad and weightlessly concentrated, culminating in a persistent finish dominated by a tenacious minerality and admirable definition.
